Thrawn Tier 7 Stormtrooper Instantly Taunts Again

1. Any advice for mod and gear for beating this level?

   Generally speaking, Chopper is supposed to be more effective than Sabine. You can get it done with G7/G8 characters, but you need really good Mods to make up the difference (mostly looking at speed secondaries). Otherwise, I think G9 would be the minimum.

   I had Ezra and Hera at G10 when I beat the final Thrawn tier. Zeb was G8 and everyone else was G9. I ran Chopper instead of Sabine, which I definitely think is more forgiving, especially if your running lower geared characters. It kind of goes without saying that the lower gear you're running, the better mods you'll need ... and better luck. The absolute requirement is to have all of the unique abilities omega'd along with Hera's leader ability. This is crucial.

   The kill order on the final encounter is important too. Take out the Deathtroopers first and save Thrawn for last. Get taunt up on either Kanan or Chopper as soon as possible, so neither of them gets fractured.

   Thrawn's event is one of the most difficult legendary event's in my opinion. That final encounter needs to be approached with precision or you'll get manhandled.

   I already have Thrawn 6*d
   Was waiting for this to come back to 7*
   I think I misread earlier posts, and thought that my Phoenix team would be strong enough for it

   I dont really have mods with good speeds. I only have good speed primaries or secondaries on 1* mods :-/

   ok, I got his 6* blue ass handed to me but it was no walk in the park
   I'm gathering missing Chopper shards and nearing to an end but I know that tier 7 will be an even more unpleasant encounter with mr. smurf
   all G8 but no omegas apart from the Hera's leader ability
   how hard will it be? what abilities are crucial? do I really need to waste omegas on those fucks?

   @NoNames I would suggest getting Hera to G9 if you can. Survivability on her is important. Kanan and Chopper provide survivability for your team. If you can't mod for speed, I'd try to up your damage output with as much speed as you can.

   @flair I honestly don't think you can beat it without omegas on everyone's unique abilities.

    you're breaking my heart sumi
    I have four omegas right now - I miss the times I didn't care about developing new toons and got 40+ zetas, 300 mk3 mats and who knows how many omegas but perhaps about a hundred
    how many omegas can I get per day?

    Well, you get 1 from the daily, but that's about it. You can buy one for 1,500 Fleet Arena currency, but that's a very bad deal. Technically they can drop from some Cantina nodes, but that odds of that happening are almost nil. I think I've gotten one a handful of time since they added it to the game, which has been many months. Sometimes they come with some packs. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do on short notice.

    alas I knew that
    from a couple days of farming DT I get maybe one
    so at that rate I can get two omega abilities before Thrawn expires - three if I'm really lucky
    uniques you say? no basics, no specials? why are they so crucial?

    I've been doing 3 Cantina refreshes a day for about 2 weeks on Sith Assassin. That's ~344 attempts and not a single Omega. In fact, I can't remember the last time I got an Omega there. So I would not count on being lucky again.

    Hera's leadership allows all Phoenix characters to share their Uniques. So when you Omega them, it benefits the entire team.

    Yeah, I've got news for you, the crunch on omegas doesn't seem to go away. At least it hasn't for me. I always seem to be running short on those.

    which omega is the least useful? ezra? zeb? chopper?

    That's true, they drop reasonably often in GW, but it's random so you almost can't count on it.

    As far as the Phoenix Omegas, I'm honestly not sure. Zeb and Chopper both give durability and health/protection recovery, which is important in low gear characters. Kanan is arguably the most important because that counter attack does a lot of work. You could probably get away with not doing Hera's leader. With Chopper, you probably won't have anyone below full health most of the time. And given your gear if they are in a position to use her leader's Omega, you'll be in trouble anyway. Both Ezra and Sabine (even though you're not going to be using her) increase damage. If it was a choice between Zeb or Chopper and Ezra, I'd probably skip Ezra.

    Some of it is luck, though. You'll need to keep trying because some attempts will go very badly because of RNG. Don't give up just because you lost one.

    why is buying omegas considered by everyone such a horrendous deal?
    of course zetas are more expensive just by one third but in my position? not getting Thrawn is a much worse deal

    Buying omegas from the fleet store is considered by many to be a bad deal because there are such few ways to get zeta mats.

    You also get some omegas from the Ability Mats Challenge, and the Ship Ability Materials Challenge

    Also the Imperial Fleet Omega Battle is coming up. Probably better to spend the 200-300 crystals to do a refresh there, rather than use fleet tokens
